Sorry Phil... I beat ya out

I am now the overly too proud father of the Fastest SVX that is to remain naturally aspirated... I got to run out to Atco for one last blast down the strip with the old girl before she goes to her new home and WOW was I impressed... The best time I could throw down was 14.534 @95.33mph... Yes this just beat out PhastSVX's time of 14.59 but I have my own excusses as to why. 1st off, I could not get a great launch out of her without spinning all 4's due to the fact that I cannot drive around the water they spray for burnouts... My clutch also doesn't seem to be able to handle the new found power and it slips some when changing gears... I think with the a firmer clutch and now water.. I could have run a 14.4 or 14.3 with my highest trap of the day being at 96.2mph  Anyway... I will see if I can break my own record again someday with the 6mt once I start modding it again...Below is a picture of the time slip I am car #3994

Tom,
Nice! Guess my prediction was pretty good ;) Your 60' time is in STI/EVO territory (I think...)

Yes good one Tom,

Glad to see it work out for uall. Better is still to come, Though the manual guys will need a twin plate clutch, to use it all.

Harvey. ;)

Hey Harvey, I have been meaning to ask you about the cam setup I used in the 5mt... Can we go more aggressive or would it be in the range of uselssness??

Tom

maybe you need to adjust it some more....

adjust adjust adjust, gotta love cable clutches

And besides, it's been through two motors and three trannys, it's about time for it to wear out

TomsSVX 11-27-2005 09:35 AM

actually when I was telling u I was losing power somewhere... thats where it was... The clutch is still in good shape with plenty of room to fully engage it is just too weak to hold that kind of power in a car as heavy as mine

Did anyone happen to take video of your runs?
-Bill (still waiting for the videos from the last ATCO event...)
