1995 Green L AWD with only 65K miles
5 Attachment(s)
Hi all!
It seems like my long absence from this site caused my account to be disactived, so I had to re-join again to be able to post my beauty for sale. Unfortunately, the need for practicality has outweighed my ability to remain a proud owner of such a unique automobile. State SVX is in: NY (but was mostly driven in VA by me and previously in OH.) Year: 1995 Model: L AWD VIN: JF1CX3357SH100494 Paint Color: Emerald Pearl (dark green) Interior Color: Grey Miles: 67,500 Location: Long Island City, Queens, NY (11109) Modifications: * PWR aluminum radiator (installed by TomsSVX at around 43,000 miles) * silicone radiator hoses * Stebro muffler * K&N air filter * cryogenically sealed slotted brake rotors with cermic pads * tinted windows * Kenwood CD/MP3/tape stereo Major service: * Rear bearings replaced at 65,000 miles by a Subaru dealer * Timing belt and water pump replaced at 65,300 miles by TomsSVX * Front stabilizer links replaced at 65,550 miles Engine Condition: Excellent, purrs like a kitten Maintenance Records: Available Transmission condition: Strong, shifts smooth and crisp. Glass condition: Original blue tint glass cracked this past January, so I replaced it with a used bronze tint windshield taken from an LSi, which has typical signs of use. Wheels/Tires: Stock rims with Toyo tires with 12,000 miles on them. Interior condition: Excellent! Body condition: No faded paint anywhere. It was garage-kept for most of its life. However, there are some typical paint chips and scratches. Known defects or problems: None. Asking price: $5500 (Decreased from $6500) Thanks for looking! Regards, Rad |

Might be interested but what kind of price range are you looking at here. Might help sell the car also.

Re: 1995 Green L AWD with only 65K miles in NY
Thanks for the interest. It's very diffucult to price this type of car. As we all know, it really depends on how much someone is willing to pay for a car that is as rare as ours and in decent condition. I have loved the SVX since it first appeared in 1992, but couldn't afford it then. And when I was finally able to get one, I searched high and low for a well-kept used one. And this is now my 2nd SVX already. For the first one, I flew out to Kansas City and drove it back to the east coast. And then this second one I found in Cincinnati with only 32K miles on it. I would love to find a new owner that is as passionate about the SVX as I am.
So, that being said, I was thinking of a price target around $6500. If you guys tell me that's absurd, I am willing to negotiate. However, I am still even considering just holding on to it, but it really kills me to think the abuse it will get by not being in a garage here in NYC. Also, what value would you put on the car if I actually did perform all the preventive maintenance now to ensure that the new owner will not have any severe problems? For example: replacing the timing belt, water pump, camshaft seals, oil pump seals, valve cover gasket, head gasket, etc. You can also ping LarryIII, since he has met me and saw my car at a Subaru show he and I attended in 2005. (See his thread "General SVX Babble/White Album, post #22: http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...ler#post340805) Best regards, Rad |

I would say that that is a fair price, especially if you did the maintenance on it. :)

I would love to own it. 6k would be pushing my limits for me . You defiantly have a nice car tho.

Re: 1995 Green L AWD with only 65K miles in NY
Okay, so you all seem to agree that $6500 is a fair price if the car won't need any preventive maintenance for a good number of years. Therefore, if it costs around $2000 for me to do that maintenance now (all gaskets, seals, timing belt, water pump, etc.) then I should be considering a $4500 price for the car in its current state. Correct?
Okay, let's say I lower the asking price now down to $5000. Who's game? |

Re: 1995 Green L AWD with only 65K miles in NY
Latest update: I did have TomsSVX do the timing belt and water pump replacement, along with all other relavent components and seals.
Everyone at All We'll Drive agrees that they very rarely see a car in this pristine condition in their shop. The price is back to a firm $6500. I'm beginning to think I should find a way to keep it myself, or at least be patient to find someone who really appreciates a car that won't need any work for a good long time! I've updated my original post with all current information, as well as new photos showing the paint chips, although they do look much worse in the photos than in reality, so don't let that scare you away. |

Excellent car. Just to give an idea of how unmolested it really is, Saturday was the first time the intake snorkel came off since it rolled out of the dealer lot when NEW!!
Amazing SVX Tom |

Ever decide on keeping it versus selling it?

Yes... I'm sad to say that I have to part ways with her. She's definitely for sale. :-(
I lose the garage spot that she's sitting in at the end of this month, so you'd better hurry before any more of those inconsiderate NY drivers start scuffing up the bumpers when parking. :-) |
