Just for sh!t's and giggles, what does everyone get for fuel mileage? I was very afraid the first time i calculated my mpg and found it to be 12! 3 tanks later i still can't not floor it at least once. Maybe i should take a trip to accurately judge it. oh well.

12mpg :yikes:
I routinely get around 25MPG and I "floor-it" all the time. Course I've got a '97 (don't know if that matters) and I drive 99% highway.
Average speed is around like 80 to and from work, 42 miles each way. I'm shooting for 350miles on one tank. Opp! I forgot to fill up last night (I parked last night at 308miles) and NEVER even looked at my trip meter today.  I'd better go look after work. Should be 350 right now. MAN! I would have been sweating bullets if I had known! I WAS going to bring an extra tank just in case. I usually fill up at 320miles and put about 12-13 gallons in. I know the tank is an 18+ gal tank so I should be able to go another 125miles. But I've never had the guts to drive on "E" that long. With my new commute I've been wanting to see how long I can get without filling up. I guess I just set a new record.  |
I usually run about 23.5 to 25.5 with a 60% highway and 40% city mix. My gas gauge doesn't work so I use the trip odometer all the time. I have had the low fuel warning light come on several times (a little orange fuel pump lights up on the light bar) and the car required around 14 gallons to fill at that point. So there is quite a bit of fuel in there when the warning comes on. At least in my 92 there is.

I get 16 in the city, 25-28 on the hwy. I usually drive for about 40 extra miles once the low fuel light comes on and fill up with about 15.5 gal. I have a '92 with 95K and the original O2 sensors. Bill

mileage
i usually get about 18-19 in the city and have gotten around 25-26 on the highway. i have a 94 and i think my SVX is probaby the norm when it comes to fuel mileage performance.

Yup. Average around 22.7 MPG and fill up with about 15.5 gallons, for a conservative range of 350 mi.

Mileage
My mileage varies.
Right now I'm getting about 20, and I drive in a 50/50 mix of highway and city. On the freeway on long trips, I havegotten as much as 29.8 miles to the gallon. During the winter I got as poor as 17mpg. |
Hey flagstaff SVX. We should meet up some time I have a 1992 Turbo LSL. I live in Prescott valley about 1.5 hours away
BTW 17 city 25+ on the highway |
Hey, that'd be great. I am just completely in love with my car now and am reading everything in the forums. I guess my bad mileage came from driving only city (commute from house to school) plus i get fustrated with slow traffic and floor it around the long way so i can pass all the slow people. (cobblestones are VERY slippery!) Did i see that you raced on a track somewhere?

12MPG?!
FlagstaffSVX,
I dunno, even if all you do is drive to the convenience store and back you should be getting more than 12MPG. Me with shot oxygen sensors in city driving gets 15.5MPG in the winter, and 17.5MPG with the beautiful warm weather over  the past couple of weeks. VK 92 Pearl LSL, 162k |
I usually manage about 27+, in mostly interstate driving, typically about 70 -75 mph. Haven't really checked in-town mileage.
|
No I haven't raced it as of yet. My dad also has a 1992 SVX
|
I get around 20 on my daily commute (country roads, a little stop and start). On the way back from PA I got 26/27, Interstate, avg speed about 90. Not bad for a '92 with over 150K.:D

mileage
i get 400 miles out of a full tank , enough for a trip from sanjose to LA
other wise 300 miles for 70% highway, 30% city and 200 miles for driving around town so yeah in the low 10s in city :( |
i get 17mpg driving around town in 3rd, 30 on the highway in D.
in either case, i tromp on the pedal quite often to pass slow folk. i've got a '92 with 103K. toby |
