Front Axles!!!!! H E L P ! ! ! ! ! !

I've been trying to buy a reman axle for my 1995 AWD SVX! Some manufacturers have one part number for "all front", but each store (Autozone, PepBoys, Napa, locals) has another manufacturer that shows an AWD part# and a FWD# (DIFFERENT PART NUMBERS AND DIFFERENT PRICES!) The local dealer AND SubaruParts.com have TWO DIFFERENT PARTS for AWD and FWD!
I've been told by some very reputable people (like Beav) to not worry, but my brain does not compute a logical explanation for the "one part/two part" dilemma.

CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME, SO I CAN GET THIS FIXED WITH PEACE OF MIND? Thanks Y'ALL! :) :D

P.S. The numbers I got from SubaruParts.com are:

28021PA061 [AWD] about $270
28021PA070 [FWD] about $320.

I don't know what the differance is, but I do know they will enterchange:) ...so get the cheaper of the 2

And you might want to get a reman, instead of a brand new one. www.rockauto.com has them for ~62 dollars +core charge (which you get back when you send your old ones in). I just got mine from them yesterday, they look great.

I think if its like the 1 generation legacy, the FWD axels are a liitle beefier so they can handle all the power, but they are inerchangable.

I GIVE UP!

Noone had a definitive answer, so I'm gonna go with the "best" explanation to date: It doesn't matter, because the differences must be inconsequential (like cosmetic) - They must work in each application. Svxsubaru1 had the best explanation>> Hope you're right bro!

Thanks for your input, gents! :D
