Another Tom? Sheesh. ;) I guess I can't really say anything though, there's like 300 Chris's here.

I got ~18 MPG on my last tank, ~19 on the one before that, purely city driving in rush hour. With an intermittent code for both O2 sensors, which doesn't help matters. I'll be getting much much worse mileage on this tank, but that's because I did two days of snow racing on it.

What sort of driving habits do you have? I'm rarely above 3K RPM unless I'm shooting for a quick lane change/opening type thing. If you have a desperate need to see that Power light on all the time, you won't have good mileage. Also, what sort of trips do you make? If you do many small trips where the car barely warms up you'll have terrible numbers. I had less than 8 MPG once in the Taurus for that reason.

my 92 svx is about the same, 10 mpg city, its terrible! not sure what the deal is, never goes above 2500 rpm's, but when i start it DAMN does it smell like extra gas is being burned. no clue, maybe its the cold (out in colorado at the moment) maybe i have no idea, as i got the car less than 2 weeks ago. :). ill have it checked out this summer, but man i hope the MPG improves before my 1000 mile trip home or it will be a damn expensive one!

I would suggest driving like you have an egg between your foot and the gas pedal. You don't want to break the egg. That way your mileage should go up no matter where you drive. :)

Mine's also in CO, but I'm getting 20+ MPG unless I put my foot in it (in which case I generally get ~16 MPG). Something definitely sounds wrong, unless you insist on doing donuts at the local mall parking lot every time you see the white flurries . . . oh, wait; I do that too. Never mind.

Does the idle speed hold up for an unusually lengthy period after start up?

Whatever, when you get it checked make sure the Bypass Air Control Valve, Auxiliary Air Control Valve and associated hoses are gone over carefully.;)

when i start the car it smells like gas....idk what the dilo is but its makin me mad and i nvr go over 3k on the tach....

currently it resides in steamboat springs, nah, it doesn't idle high for nearly as long as my accord (94 ex, 33mpg highway) however, you can distinctly smell the smell of very rich gas when it first starts up. VERY rich. now is that the altitude? the cold? or just something that ill have to live with till my mech checks it out. All in all though, for the 600$ i paid for it, im not too sad :)
