Possible fund raiser needed

Well, its getting warm. And so is the server/server room.
Jim has been providing us a place and connection for a while now as well as administrative duties. To be honest, this has been done at a loss for many months. We are hoping to be providing some new serivces that can in turn generate some cash to offset costs. (more about this soon)

Until then, the walk in closet that he has turned into a server room for us is getting much to warm for computer comfort. His house A/C can keep things cool if he doesnt mind the rest of the house frigid. The cost to make a second zone in his place is much to high compared to other options. So I am puting out this "feeler" to see if we have enough memebers that can DONATE either some cash or a unit like what he is looking at to accoplish this cooling nesessesity.

Here is what he is looknig at:
APC air conditioner on Ebay

Post your ideas, opinions, and or suggestions.
If we have a millionaire in out group, please just ship the unit to Jim's house in Nampa :D

I have some money in my paypal account. It isn't much, but I would like to donate it. Money is a bit tight right now, but I figure every little bit will help out. Hopefully I can give more later. Where can I transfer the money to?

Those units are really sweet. I have a few at various clients.

If the closet is on an outside wall (assuming he owns the house, not rents) it is super easy to do a permanent mount air conditioner. Its just like framing in a window and then you can get a tiny Wal-Mart Air conditioner that will keep it cool as a cucumber.

I have central air at my house, but use a window air conditioner in the office which is running about 8 servers and a few workstations. It works incredibly well.

But yes, do list your donation info for us.

i would be willing to donate. i've heard those types of units work well. that one specifically is alittle costly for its output tho. see if sears or home depot has stronger units (maybe better waranties also).

I would also be down to toss in a few $. Money is tight as I'm closing on a house, but I'd like to pitch in.

how many servers do you have? i just finished installing a single koolance exos 2 on 4 servers (cpu and motherboard only) the cooling unit itself can be moved up to 30 feet away so he could place it in a mini fridge, it also reduces your heat source to one unit. im using one right now.

700 watts of cooling power. but it is alot of work and unless you have the time and money it's probably better to ac the room for now.
