Stage III/ 6-Speed going to the Strip

Well I think I'm going to try and get to the Drag strip in Delmar, DE on Sunday. It'll only cost me $16.00 (plus the price of a new clutch after I nuke the one thats in it) to run. I'll have to register to race, but I'll probubly just run the time trials in the beginning and be done with it.

I think I'll call my dad an see if he wants to steal moms Z06 and go too. So everyone keep your fingers crossed for good weather and I'll get you guy's some E.T.s and maybe a little video.;)

Cant wait to see video!

Good luck! Smoke the Sh** out of a few ricers for us.

Yeah Mike don't try a high rev clutch dump, or it might just dump it there and then. I'd pop it at 2000, then pour the power on. Too much torque higher than that.

Harvey.;)

Agreed. You have a s/c car so boost (i.e. power) will pile on in a relatively linear fashion like an n/a engine. I'd start with a launch at 2,000rpms and focus on really shifting through the gears as quickly as possible - with an STI trans you'll be in 5th at the end of the 1/4. ;)

P.S. Have you received the revised software (and possibly pulley??) from LAN? Have you taken her up to redline yet? I'd do a few hard runs from a roll when you're close to home rather than drive all the way to DE to try it for the first time. If all is well, then have at it this Sunday!!!!

Cool..good luck and can't wait to see your time slips and video.

Agreed with giving your car a few hards before you take her to the track!

PS: Any expected time in mind?

Mymoney is on 12.5.
Just a wild guess from out of the blue.

Kinda optimistic, kinda safe.

Exciting news, this.

I'm thinking 6th by the end. JDM tranny...... I have the finalized software and the correct pulley. I have a small boost leak that I will fix Friday. My parents shop is in Delaware, thats why I'm running there instead of Atco. I havent hit redline yet, but I have pushed it up over 5000. The clutch starts to slip a little at higher RPMs. As for a few hard runs all I can say is I've been driving it all week. (flash back to Reading)

On a side note: I filled up Sunday with 94 Octane. I have put 160 miles on the car and I'm currently at a 1/4 tank. With the tranny and S/C I've managed to cut the gas mileage in half.

SVXMAN2001 04-06-2006 05:51 AM

does your car have the pessimistic gas guage like many of the other svx's running around? Obviously you'll be getting lower gas mileage vs the na svx, i would use the orange light as a better indicator of gas mileage...

Nemesis Destiny 04-06-2006 06:20 AM

If what I read about the S/C is true, then the gears and lead foot have more to do with it than the boost. According to ECUtune, at steady state cruise the S/C is only supposed to eat about 1hp, but obviously, if you can't stay off the throttle, then your fuel consumption will only go up, up, up! And the ratios on the JDM 5th/6th gears are brutal for economy.

Tell me the gear ratios from 1st - 6th, the final drive & current tire size - I'll calculate your max speed in each gear (@6,500rpms).

It's great that everything is running well with the finalized software and pulley.

Following Nik Fu's example, my prediction Sunday is a 13.6 @ 108 for your 1/4 mile as I see you having a lot of 'traction' issues! ;)
