please help need to know trans question
 

i am going to do a manuel trans conversion but need to know what years of impreza trans will hold up to the weight of the svx.

tom told me that any trans from a Ej series engine will work.

i have found a 2001 5 speed trans from a 2.5 rs impreza would this one hold up to the svx? or should i look for a newer one?

any info would would be great :):)

The answer to your question varies greatly depending on what you plan to do with your car....

If you plan to drive it like a normal car, any Subaru 5-speed will hold up fine...

If you plan to drag race it and do clutch dumps, then NO Subaru Tranny will hold up to it....but there are a few that are stronger than others....but if it is to be abused, any Manual tranny will fail over time, on ANY car.....if you wanna play, you gotta pay.....
