Hi Tom,

What is a stage 3 install?

What are group N motor mounts?

Is your garage heated?

Sorry for asking dumb questions.

Dan

Is your garage heated?- It will be... not to mention I could throw a wrench and hit the Phil. Art Museum and the Ben Franklin Museum... Center City... Well, philadelphia for that matter

Sorry for asking dumb questions.-These are not dumb questions, believe me, I have had a lot worse;)

Headers will be built by your's truly if I decide to produce them. I am gonna make a set for my silver. Cams are still under review as of right now

Tom,
Might be some options on the header front in terms of "bolt in" versus "optimized". Sean and I are working on some "optimized", SS, mandrel-bent, TIG welded versions using Harvey-supplied, computer model-based specs....which just happen to match up with the cams I'm working on:rolleyes:

I am not building a bolt in header... They will be built for my car and then an exhuast system to match. Hopefully I will acheive a 36" equal length for the car. I am still unsure of the tubing diameter I want to use.

No... $2800 in LABOR... not parts.

$2800 is if you have all the parts on hand.

EDIT: He actually says $2000 for labor, not sure where you got the $800 from. I doubt you would find a 6 Speed for $800.

I had to look twice to;) , the $800 is for the conversion kit assume, heck if i could have a 6speed for 2800USD installed id float my car over there and get it done haha:D

Congrats tom wish there was a shop in Australia ;)

The kit includes the following:
....Custom X-member
....Extended shift linkage
....Modified Impreza pedal box
....Modified SVX brake booster

The price of the kit is $800, after $100 core for the stock parts.

In addition, you will need a 5 or 6mt transmission, and a driveshaft or have yours extended. Also, a custom shifter mount will need to be made in order for the rear portion of the shifter to mount to the car. I can provide this, just let me know.

Labor charge:
....5mt conversion- $1800
....6mt conversion- $2000

Anything else will usually be charged hourly, $75.00/hour. I will guarantee my work but not used parts. Any questions please feel free to PM me.
Tom

So that's $2600 for both the kit with custom parts (X-member, pedals, etc) and the labor to install a 5mt transmission for you.

Additional Items needed
....5mt WRX transmission (which I figure is about $1500 shipped)
....New or extended driveshaft
....Custom shifter mount.

I figure the total conversion, all parts and labor, is a little over $4600. I'm sure Tom will correct me if I am wrong. Now add a great shift knob, a custom leather shift boot and such and you could be revving through those gears for a little under 5000.

TomsSVX 12-07-2006 09:05 AM

Ok I can see why you are getting confused so I will clear it up...

$800 is for the conversion kit and you want to do the install yourself.

That $800 is already included in the 5/6mt swap if you are having me do it, so the total for labor is only $2000 for a 6mt or $1800 for a 5mt...

I hope this helps

Tom
