Car Shows

Some of u GUYS and GALS have some great looking SVX's . Have any of you put them in Car Shows, if so how did u do?

Earthworm 05-26-2005 02:30 PM

I go to shows all the time. SVX doesn't do well as no one knows about them.

Mind you I don't go to import shows. It's a family thing:

Me - SVX
Mom - 1971 Corvette
Dad - 1969 Nova SS
Uncle - 1957 Chevy
Aunt - 1968 Chevelle SS
Grandfather - 1967 Cadillac
Cousin - 1955 Chevy

Please never refer to the SVX as being cute ever again. It's "beastly" and lets leave it at that :)

I've done a car show or two and the SVX will never be a winner because no one knows what they are.
In fact... I'll have to scan it.... when I entered one show I sent a picture with my registration because I wasn't sure they'd know which class to put me in.... that pic of my car ended up in the paper for the advertisement of the entire car show a couple days before it started.... in fact, I should sue for rights to that pic.... lol

But now that I think of it... it's really cool that they used my car in the ad.

I'll be bringing the beast to the Ocean City Car Show on June 11 :)

I got second place Subby in the Dover, DE Tri-state car show.

kinda helped that there was only 3 subbies there.

I think the judges were on crack though. There was a bone stock silver 2003 WRX Wagon and a modded 2002 WRX in a deep red color. The wagon got first place?

My car's finish is a bit too world weary from everyday driving to be show worthy, but I keep thinking one of these days I'm going to cruise one of the frequent summertime rod runs around here, just to see what kind of reaction it gets in that setting.

Yes I was thinking more on the line of the Cruise Night's. Now that I have the car all the time ( the wife gave it up in October ) she bought a new car. I am in the process of trying to fix it up from the daily driver it was.

You'd love the Carlisle show Earthworm! Met 3 or 4 SVXers there that aren't really board people (most knew about it but weren't really here very much). Each one was very friendly and spent a great deal of time talking even though they were all there for different reason/cars they all seemed to say they wish they would've brought their SVX but didn't think anybody would care.

Last year, I think I was the only one at all of carlisle that had a sign on it telling people to climb in and enjoy the car but just don't treat it like you treat your own car :D . It came home needing nothing more than some grass removed from the d. side floor mat. Probably 50 people climbed in it.

this is kinda off subject but I just got back from a GTO show that there were probably about 50 of them there. Now I need to sleep.

Going to 2 shows this weekend. One at the Subaru Dealership here in Winnipeg and the other in Steinbach (about 45 mins south of here).
