16/17 August meet date

Looks like the best option for the venues.

Get back to you at the weekend with initial itinerary.

Get it in your diaries!

I have just managed to make contact with Richard & Claire (Richdev) and they hope to be able to join us.

Another one to add to the list

I've just got off the phone with Matt & Claire in Twyford. They said to put them down as an "almost definite".

Unfortunately they haven't got internet or email at the moment. I said I'd call them back when the details are finalised.

Phil.

Thanks for chasing others down. I will put an update together tomorrow.

Paperwork to confirm dates with the venues will be in the post today. Looks like it will be Kenilworth Castle on the first day and the Motor museum on Sunday. I will look into getting a table at the Thai in Stratford if that is ok for everyone.

I'll get some links for accommodation on before the weekend also.

Hope the weather is like it is today!!!

Maybe

I've also managed to contact Aubrey Taylor from Manchester, he'll try to make it if his schedule allows. He may just turn up at the last minute.

Call your dealer!!!

I was just on the phone to our local Subaru dealer and I happened to ask whether they have any other SVX owners on their books.

He did a search of their database and found 4 customers in the local area. So I gave him the details of the meet and asked him to pass on the message. I really hope some of them make contact.

He also said that a guy came in yesterday to get a quote for a transmission rebuild , but they didn't take his details.

I booked my boat ticket today, only me, no missus & kids (yipee, 5 days of freedom :D )

Anyone booked accomodation yet?

TonyShaleUK 07-26-2003 12:48 AM

Hi Andy,

You saw that I posted a list of websites for accommodation earlier in a different thread?

I'll be posting an update to arrangements and possible attendees etc this weekend.

TonyShaleUK 07-26-2003 12:57 AM

Just re-read your post Andy - you say 5 days of freedom. Does that mean you've told the rest of the cohort that the Meet lasts 5 days!??:D

no, just told them that the boat was fully booked on all other days :D :D

Also said that you have made the meet a 'male only' and no kids, so if you get a phone call, I may need backup ;)

Cross my palm with silver when I see you!!:D

As you are likely to be the longest duration traveller, when are you likely to get to the Midlands - assuming you are travelling Saturday? I can then put a schedule around your ETA.

Andy 07-27-2003 03:50 AM

I am on Thursdays boat so I will be spending a couple of nights somewhere in the UK, therefore my arrival time will not be a problem. I am likely to spend Friday night somewhere close.

Have you booked a venue for Saturday evening? I would like to try for accomodation very nearby.

I am having my ATF cooler and filter fitted tomorrow in preparation for the hot weather!!
