O2 Sensor Problem
My 94 SVX check engine light came on, and it was showing codes 32 (right hand side O2 sensor) and 37 (left had side O2 sensor). So I replaced both sensors with the ones by NTK. But I'm still getting an intermittent CEL code 37. I removed the left hand side sensor, checked all connections and reinstalled, but am still getting a CEL code 37. Any ideas what the problem could be? Not sure that this relates to the issue, but I recently replaced my MAF sensor with a new one for a 97 Legacy. Could I just have a bad O2 sensor right out of the box?
Other than the CEL light the engine runs and sounds fine. Thanks. Larry |
Re: O2 Sensor Problem
Check your timing. The belt may have jumped one or two teeth.

Re: O2 Sensor Problem
If it's running fine the timing should be ok. Did you reset the computer after replacing the sensors? Let it sit overnight with the battery disconnected.

Re: O2 Sensor Problem
The maf is not correct. I know many people use them for short term or diagnosis purposes but until that is corrected it will be very hard to properly diagnose your O2 sensors.

Re: O2 Sensor Problem
Yes, I reset the engine codes. I installed the new O2 sensor today and the CEL light didn't come on during a 20 mile drive, but i need to put some more miles on it to be sure. Regarding the MAF sensor, I resoldered the old one and will reinstall it if the CEL light comes back on in the next few days.
