Free 3rd party windshield in Stony Point, NY

Back when I had an SVX, there was some company selling 3rd party windshields on ebay that they "found" in their warehouse. As a precaution, I purchased two of them and put them in storage. When I sold my SVX, I sold it along with one of the uninstalled windshields. The windshield did end up working, but required some gaskets that were not included with the 3rd party windshield. I don't know if you can source them from Subaru, but the installer that was hired was able to make the new windshield work with the old gaskets/mounting bits.

I am offering the remaining brand new windshield to anyone on this board for free that can come pick it up in Stony Point, NY 10980. I would rather not get into shipping, but it is possible. Obviously, you would have to pay the freight costs.

If there is a lot of interest, I will determine who gets the windshield based on need and/or proximity to Stony Point. Please PM or reply to this thread. Thanks.

Very interested, might be able to hike up this weekend. Do you know the color(green, blue, gold)?

The windshield gaskets are not available, but the old one can be reused. Some have tried to find them with no luck. :o

This weekend is a little rough. I will PM my email address and we can try to sync up.

The tint on the window is tan-ish IIRC. It has no metallic coating if that's what you're getting at.

Thanks.

I would definitely come get it if Jay does not choose to take it.

Coating

Remember that this windshield will not have the titanium coating, so I would think twice about installing it on an SVX that you plan on keeping for a long time. The dash will be subjected to UV rays and will eventually crack unlike cars with stock windshields.

Personally, I wouldn't put one of these on any of my cars.
