Sea Otter Classic ?

Just wondering if anyone is participating in this event? It is a "world" bike championships, I guess you can call it that. http://www.seaotterclassic.com/

Anyway, if anyone from CA, or other States are coming down here for the race, I'd be more the happy to meet them. Anyone in to biking? Becides SVX, that is my other hobby.
Funny and sad at the same time, for the time that I own SVX, I spent more money on bikes, then on SVX.

love them all.

Very cool.

Are you a racer? Which race(s) will you be entering?

I believe there are several bike types here.

Back in the early '90's I rode one road race in Asheville, NC. Horribly embarrassing for me and my family. But it was fun. At the time, I had a Giant 980C carbonfiber monostay. A very lively, tight ride.

I sold the Giant so that I could afford my first recumbent, a Ryan Vanguard LWB underseat steerer. I've pretty much stayed with recumbents since then, currently riding an older, square tubed, Rans Rocket 42 speed SWB upsteer. I also have an older Raleigh MTB Aluminum/chromoly monostay, a newer cheapo Mongoose MTB converted to trialsin, and a unicycle.

Well, I am a starting racer. Actually this will be my first MTB race. I've raced road before, and did a lot of triathlons, never Mountain Bike. So this will be my first one.
I entered Sobe Cross Country, 20 miles. Me and my bro just did a preride of a course last sunday. Very nice course. Lots of fun jumps and fast downhills. The course ends with a 4 mile steep uphill.

Anyway, I am racing this sunday, 10 am. The bike? Balance 7500. Rare frame, all around XTR, with the new 2003 phsylo SL fork. he he.
Hopefully will survive, although really nervous, he he. (I am not a biker I am a swimmer)
