SVX stud pat- what is it?

Hey everyone, i recently tried to change the mags on 92 SVX
the mags which were supposed to fit subaru did not fit me

WHATS THE STUD PAD FOR SVX? seems like its not usual 100x5 :s:confused:

taohog 05-29-2003 02:22 AM

stud pattern is 5 X 114.3 or 5 x 4.5 inches. It is also important to have at least a 45mm offset.

6evil9 05-29-2003 02:42 AM

hmm cheers, but whats offset?

what is 45mm offset?

well 5x114.3 sounds as most cars but still need to get rid of those 17" chromes :( stupid subaru grrrr

huck369 05-29-2003 05:46 AM

All the other Subaru 5 lugs use the smaller pattern, the SVX is the only Subaru to use the 114.3/5 pattern

chrome svx wheels?

i've never seen the AU wheels
pics?

Chicane 05-29-2003 09:05 AM

You've NEVER heard of offset? Oh boy, I bet your SVX will last long. :|

immortal_suby 05-29-2003 09:20 AM

The offset is the distance in or out that the rim centerline is from the hub. You may be calling this by a different name down under - maybe Harvey or Trevor can clue us in on that. An offset much different from stock will theoretically put more strain on the wheel bearings and cause premature failure. Many have run 45mm offsets for a long time with no problems, including myself. 55mm is the stock offset.
Cheers,

Matt

I figured he knew what offset was but maybe just had a different name for it. You know, how English people call wrenches 'spanners' and trunks 'boots' and hoods 'bonnets'.
