The Journey Begins

A 19 year old dream has been realised today
I think I got the right one, this time the search lasted almost 3 years. I looked at 5 different ones in varying condition. I found this one at a local Subaru dealer. Its had 2 owners, I will be the third and last Its spent the last 10 years as strictly a summer driver and was driven roughly 7,000 klm per year. Absolutely maintained to the strictess standards by its last owner It is mechanically sound, very little rust and absolutely everything works, down to the power antenna. It is everything I hoped it would be and more. I feel extremely lucky and my search was made easier by reading the posts of members here. Thanks to all You played a big part in making this dream a reality |

GOOD FOR YOU!:)
If you were meant to share your life with one, you will know. Here is where I could get funny, but its your first, and I respect that. I wish you the best. |
Re: The Journey Begins
Looks like a good one. Good luck with your adventure. I know how you feel! :)

Re: The Journey Begins
I notice it is a 92 but there is no pin striping.
I'm wondering if it has been in an accident or was just repainted the original color? Or did they just not put stripes on everything? |

They did not come from the factory with pin striping. |
I think mine did. :S
Mine also has those door and fender guards that most of you don't, though... must have been some dealer option. |
Re: The Journey Begins
Of the many I have looked at over the years I have never seen any with pin-striping
Having driven it for 2 1/2 days now, I'm amazed at how mechanically sound it is Broke all the rules and pushed it up to 150 kph yesterday and cruised for a short time at 140 kph on the 401. It was fantasictic. No shakes, no rattles, no shimmies. In fact, I don't think I have ever hit 150 in anything I have owned over the years that didn't feel like it was unhappy going that speed. My son-in-law (mechanic and restoration specialist) upon driving it said it doesn't run, it doesn't sound and it doesn't handle like a 19 year old survivor. So far, it has matched and exceeded all expectation. The only thing it wants is a new sound system. I learned quickly how thirsty it can be. 94 Octane gas is readily available here and goes about $1.35 per litre |

Re: The Journey Begins
The SVX did not come with the stripes, but were added by the Dealer. Others have had them added. They did not come standard. :o
