Trim model question...

Ive been looking around... I thought that the SVX only came in these trim levels... 92 LS, LS-L 93 LS-L 94-97 L, LS, and LSi. Now ive been seeing some 94 LE's? is this just some mix up or was there really and LE edition in there somewhere? ~Dennis

Yes there was an LE model in 94. I'm not sure how you can find the other threads on the subject as our search feature will only search words a minimum of 3 characters in length.

LE= Limited Edition right? AWD and suede and leather with the upgrade package including the CD player and sunroof. Basically an LS-L or LSi

Uh no..

Having owned an LE at one time... I can say is this.

94L models are all FWD with cloth interior, 4 speakers, no sunroof, and plastic interior and automatic seat belt.

94LE is a half year edition. Call it 94.5L if you will. It is the same car as L, FWD, cloth no sunroof etc but it has 6 speakers but no CD player, manual belt.

The last 2 LEs I've seen are in red so they may or may not be in red.

I believe they also added an airbag.

Hmm I was under the impression that the LE was like an LSL or LSi...

If youre buying a subaru then why buy a FWD.... not to offend fwd owners

Seraph 12-14-2005 06:56 PM

why FWD?

They are lighter.

My 94 (May it rest in peace :( ) is an LE just as Lwin described, but it does have auto seat belts, and the CD player. The tweeters were vacant. Just the cover. I think you could option some of these things.

Boxer6SVX 12-14-2005 07:34 PM

that article of R&T said it was part of a $2000 option package consisting of the 6 speaker sound system, spoiler, cd player, sunroof, and suede interior.

No suede. Cloth seats. It has a spoiler, and the CD player. No tweeters, just air underneath the covers. There is also no ABS on my LE. Just air there also. No sunroof. It has a light grey leather runner going from front to back along the middle of the interior roof.

I haven't read that R&T article for years. I think I'm going to revisit it now that I know just a little about them. :)

I was stating that the cd player and all the goodies were part of an options package. You could get everything but awd on an LE or L right?

intelisevil 12-14-2005 07:45 PM

It was a marketing attempt to create a less expensive model to create more sales.

Edit - Wow, I've got a slow connection, (28.8 on a good day). Six posts happened while I wrote mine . . .

Still couldnt get one for under 25k and no one at that time was willing to really spend that kind of money on a subaru. Same issue with the Tribeca. Hell, 30,000 for a STi is still unthinkable to me... and even more dumbfounding that someone would spend that for an Evo

I dont think Id have spend that kind of money on my SVX... especially in 92... no way
