I think one should never say, never, nor believe an advertisement that does.

They are most likely using a transmission from a Impreza, or Legacy. Which ever is the case it is not and SVX orginial tranny. The inside are not beefed up as the SVX tranny is. Yes it will work just do not drive your SVX like a green toed teenager on crack with somthing to prove. Plus you have to swap the rear out too. that is a whole nother world

Steve

P.S. for $750... its your call. I paid about $900 for tranny and rear with a 1 year warranty.

SVXParts is Mike Davis' (Green1995SVX) company. Mike is a great guy and has been a member of the SVX Network for a long time (he's also one of the driving forces behind the annual Reading meet). I think Mike has just responded to a need voiced by the SVX community to have an "all in one" response to our auto trans issues (short of swaping in a 5 spd!:D )

p.s. This all said, I agree that "never" is probably a bit of an overstatement -- maybe "significantly reduce"?

That make me feel a lot safer in buying one. I am glad that it is from a reputable sourse. SVXride is right Mike is a great guy. I did not know who or what SVXpart was. My bad, tary bout that.:o

Steve

P.S. can I take my foot out of my mouth now????

I agree with you there. If the trans is from a Legacy or Impreza, it'll have shorter 4.11 or 4.44 gears. The shorter gearing will mean that less strain will be placed on the trans during daily driving - which will improve longevity.
