Time of year for an AC question

OK... When I start up the AC the out put vent temp reads 20 deg F:eek:
I think that's too low...
But then after about 10 min of driving it rises to about 38 deg F.

If I'm stopped at a light for a couple of minutes then sometimes the output vent temp jumps up to about 60 deg F. and then once I'm moving in traffic again drops down to 40-35 deg F.

the 35-38 temp is about where it should be. I'm worried about the low and the high end... 20 deg to 60 deg is a pretty big jump. This happend today with the outside temp at 94- 101 deg F. But has also happened with lower outside temps down to about 80 deg f.

Anything wrong or am I just paranoid?

We all know that you are paranoid, but that may not be the problem. Have you checked the pressure of the system? Problems seem to occur when the pressure is too high or too low. The pressure of the system would be a good place to start. Mine seems to be pretty consistant in temp whether I am driving or sitting for a light. :)

How do you do that? :) Mine does this too.

You put a pressure gague on it like when you recharge it. You can get them for about $30.00 at Wally World. There is a thread that mentions what the pressure should be.

Good luck. :)

Thanks Earl.

Let me know if you need anything else. I can look it up in my manual if needed.

Can this also be caused by a blocked a/c condensor, that part in front of the radiator?
