HELP WITH "DRAGGING" noise in SVX
First I would do a search for this but I dont know what to search for....remember when we used to have air shocks on everything we owned and when you went over a bump the tires would drag making a scraping, draggin noise? Well my svx started doing that in the rear, now the front seems to be doing it too! Sorry for the bad description but its the only way i can think of to describe it.
ANY IDEAS???? |
Check under the car for dead bodies yet?

Its only when you hit a bump smarta$$. LOL, its like a scraping noise. Your prolly not old enough to remember air shocks though! I am sure its something worn out , bushings , bearings, something, help me out a little more then dead bodies please!

Can you hear the noise if the car is not moving or running and someone pushes down on the car to simulate hitting a bump??
If you, or the person causing the strut travel can, try to localize the noise to a corner. |
OK weve pushed and pulled on the corners of the car and CANT make it do it. Gonna take hubby for a ride in the AM to see what he thinks....I just cant figure it out but I KNOW its there.

Check to see if the "keepers" for the plastic inner fender wells/skirt are all there. I know for sure The wind will push the fender back into the tire on the front.

Does it make that sound every time you go over a bump? Mine does this when it is cold and I'm first starting out - I think it's old suspension bushings but I've never confirmed or checked it out. They're only 15 years old
Anyway, after driving a bit the sound goes away. |
