Do you have an approximate cost for the hotel?

John Hoffman generally negotiates a group discounted rate with the Hotel. Now that we have a date, it should be fairly soon that we have a price and contact information posted for the Hotel.

Last year, a room with two double beds was priced at 49.00 per night. We expect a similar rate this year.

READING V HOTEL INFO (UPDATE)

I just got off the phone again with John Hutchinson, General manager of the Lancaster Holiday Inn.

He has initially reserved a block of 30 rooms for us. Here is the breakdown:

20 rooms with 2 double beds each for $51.00/night, plus the 11% hotel tax, for a total of $56.61/night.
(As a point of reference, our price last year was $49.00/night plus tax, for a total of $54.39)

9 rooms with one king bed for $55.00/night plus tax, for a total of $61.09.
(The price of the king rooms only went up $1.00 from last year.)

These rates are good for 1-4 people per room.

He has already put or rates into his computer base. You can begin to make your reservations anytime. Call (800) 437-5711 and give them the code 7SSVX to get the special rate. The cutoff date for reserving these rooms and this rate is Thursday, April 1, 2004

I have the distinction of being the first club member to have made confirmed reservations for Reading V, taking 1 of the king rooms

The sooner we get this block filled, the easier it will be to get additional rooms added to the block, if needed, while they are still available.

The hotel website is www.holiday-inn.com/hi-lancaster

I also made a request if Jeff, who is the owner of the hotel (and an SVX owner) could show up sometime during the meet. If he was unavailable I requested at least that his car be there.

Mike,
How about some "how to's" that push the envelope a bit?
1. Installing JDM mirrors so you can actually use them (I'll volunteer mine as the test mule - I've got a set of JDM mirrors in a box, just not sure if I can wait until April to install them:D )
2. Installing a transmission filter
3. Swaping out sway bar bushings - urethane in place of the marshmellow stock pieces
4. Waterproofing your trunk - how to keep water from collecting in your trunk

Don't know if you can top last year's rally, but them I'm a bit partial:D :D

Mike,

I've heard about the PA Dutch tradition of "Bundling."
But Mike, 4 to a room, sounds downright kinky. :D :D

Planner's meeting?

When's our next planner's meeting?

AFBeefcake 01-13-2004 05:44 PM

So when does the meet start on the 16th. or what time do people get there. Its a 6 hour drive for me and I got school that day.

Subafreak 01-31-2004 11:21 AM

Fridays ussually arrival day. The sooner you show up the more time you'll have to meet other members and hangout in the bar, or parking lot:D As long as your there for Sat morning, thats when all the activities begin.

What do you get out of school?

AFBeefcake 01-31-2004 01:09 PM

If you mean when do I get out of school?

Then 9:50 A.M.
I will most likely be ready to leave my house at about 11:00 A.M.
I have to wait for one of my friends to show up, he wants to come with me to reading.

If you are thinking of a NE convoy to reading let me know. I would like to follow some one that knows how to get there.

Subafreak 01-31-2004 01:49 PM

Yeah I'm thinking about it. Your leaving time is pretty good for me too so lets see if any more northerners are interested and maybe we'll get a convoy together.

lanciat 02-25-2004 05:05 AM

Reading is about 50 miles from me -- an easy drive. If I was to come up on Sat AM, what time should I plan on arriving?
