Because they cost too much.

while the WRX isn't nearly as good-looking as the SVX, the Outback VDC kinda looks fat and bloated. besides, she wants something smaller. and i want something fast!:D

How old are you Lwin?? I thought I was the only old man driving a station wagon, albeit a 5 speed, turbocharged one!

Alan - get the WRX they're a blast. Get the wagon and you've got room for junk. Head over to www.i-club.com for more fun stuff.

What's your screen name over there and where do you post? I go by wawazat (no ??) and mainly spend time in the Midwest I-club forum. I've made some good friends over there. It's neat being the one with the old school performance Subaru.

I'm Green1995SVX over there too. I stick mainly in the Tri-State area forum.

Hold off for the Forester Turbo. Coming to America soon (according to the dealer). It won't attract police radar like a WRX will.

Cheers,
Matt

I love the VDC sedan. I was sold as soon as we took it out on the parking lot to check out the VDC system. If the dealers let you check out the VDC preformance on the road, trust me, you'd be sold. I want a 5speed SVX with the VDC controls.

Are there any videos out there showing the advantage of the VDC system? Lwin, you have all those cameras...surely you would be able to record from one of them :D

WRX????????

Have you driven the Legacy GT yet? It handles amazingly and if you're looking for something fast apples to apples this should outrun any Outback VDC anyday. You're not hauling around 300lbs of Pontiac inspired body cladding. Its a shame they aren't planning to offer the 3.0 in the GT for 2003 but at my last trip to the dealer I was checking them out for my wife. The 2003 comes standard in leather so again another car is out (she won't eat meat so why would she sit on it) Its so much nicer now that they got rid of the non-functional hoodscoop.

Tri-state is pretty cool. Been there a while.

As for the GT, I like the old DOHC better than the new one, but the VTD system in the new one is sweet.

The 3.0GT will be nice once it gets here.

also looking at the Legacy GT. i didn't know Subaru had a tiptronic style auto tranny - i think it was called Sportshift? i wish it had the 3.0 H6, though. i'd prefer the larger GT over the WRX, but hey, i got a need for speed. the wife prefers a smaller car - the last time she drove my Lesabre T-type, she was almost riding on the curb. i wouldn't be as nervous if she was in the smaller WRX. she drives like a grandma, so the engine wouldn't get any exercise until i got my hands on it :D
