New headlight bulb connector
 

I am continuing to have that headlight problem with my svx. the drivers side headlight goes out when i start the car. I have to pop the hood and connect the bulb back for it to work. Then when i turn the car off and restart it goes off again. I think i have to order a new connector. Can someone tell me what i exactly i should order from the dealer?

I am guessing that it is the low beam light socket that you need. If that is the case, the part number would be 84953PA050 - either right or left hand and are about $6.00.

Actually Earl, that part number is for a socket cover.:)

You can't order headlight sockets from the dealer....Subaru doesn't offer them seperately (they come attached to one of the main wiring harnesses).

Any good aftermarket parts store will have what you need for less than $10. Just tell them what headlight bulb you use (9006) and that you need a socket that will fit that bulb. After that, it's just a matter of cutting off the old socket, and splicing in the new socket.

ok guys thanks alot. Ill head over to this shop i go to for parts tomorrow. Should i just go back to useing the regular light bulbs instead of these aftermarker clear ones?

As for the bulbs......as long as they are 55W you're safe. If you like the aftermarket bulbs, stick with those.
