Reading 21 Dates
 

What is happening with this year's Reading Meet. Are we going to hold one or not? I'd hate to see it die before me. Our SVXes are now antiques like most of us. Let's not put them and us out to pasture. If an SVXer can fly in from Austraila a couple of years ago to attend Reading. Surely, we can drive a few miles to this SVX Meet.

PS: Don't forget the Italian pastry.

Well, the only reason it may not be held is because the 30th meet is also taking place but in Indiana. Frankly, if both are held on different weekends, I'll attend both. I wasn't able to make Reading last year and it was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID, and rightly so, but I hope it is held this year. Will just have to be on a different weekend than May 13-15. I do recall that in the year of the 25th Anniversary meet, Reading did not take place.

I don’t own a SVX anymore but I would certainly make an appearance to drool over those nice SVXs.

As of this writing, my vote is for June. I'd like to be able to bring the '97, but I'm held up waiting for OEM timing belt parts, etc., to get her in much better shape. Was told that the water pump won't be available until mid-March. But regardless, I would very much like to see Reading take place. Even if it's just a handful of us.

Sean, you should def. make an appearance. I was driving an ever changing assortment of this that and the other to Reading on and off for ten years before I got my silver '92. I always loved seeing the cars and, more importantly, the people.

I think June is a better option also. Better weather. More likely a safer option with respect to the diminishing of COVID. I would have to check with the hotel to see if there was availability for these weekends (graduations, weddings, etc.)

Before I start a poll, any initial opinions?

If the few that may be attending are still OK with June 11, I am as well. The 17-19 can also work for me, but let's see if Larry and Zora are OK with those dates.

This thread seems to indicate a lack of interest by anyone beyond the four listed.

The original Reading meet, April 1, 2000. was designed as a one-day meetup without an overnight stay, some we’re having so much fun they did not want to leave. So they checked into the hotel to keep the party going be and left the next day.

If we take the hotel out of the question then any day would work, since most were planning to come for the day only.
