Idle Speed>> Whaz Norml?
 

Heh! My car runs at about 2000 rpm on startup. It takes about a minute to get down to 1500 rpm, so I'm usually starting out at about 1200 to 1500 rpm. It's kinda clunky, so I was wondering if that's within normal limits (esp. when cold)??

1500 when it's cold. If I put the tranny in neutral it will drop to 1000 and when it's warm it's around 600.

On a super cold morning (i.e. around the 0F mark) with the car outside, the car would run at 2k RPM at startup.

I wouldn't worry much about the initial idle if it isn't over 2k RPM, as long as the idle once the engine is warm is around 600 to 750RPM.
