OT Japanese Translation please...

Attached is a photo of a friend's quilt. She wishes to hang it up in the office, but does not know what it means. We're not even sure of the orientation for that matter. She does not wish to offend her many visitors.

Can our Japanese friends help?

The way you are holding is right way. And it's not Japanese. It's chinese. Try a chinese person and you might get a better luck.

hmmm?? OMG !!

I work with LOT's of Chinese people, but I was told it was Japanese. I just asked Jingwen and she had to laugh....

It's a mirror image of the correct way. The quilt is inside out!

The middle says "creative"

The stuff on ends state a professor's name of some university and the date and purpose (some torniment or something).

Wow. This is why I had such a hard time with it....
