SVX Carbon fiber hood and trunks!
 

I have been talking to VKINNOVATIONS here in Toronto about making carbon fiber hoods and trunks for our cars.

They said if we can get 5+ people for each one they will offer a group buy at $450 each (cnd)

I don't know if anyone is interested but if you are post it up.

Not a bad price, but shipping is probably going to be a killer...OT was able to get a fg hood made, but then only about 5 (?) of us actually bought them.

Just putting it out there for who ever wants one. This will be an OEM CF hood, not one with a scoop. As well the trunk would be only a little lighter, only for looks. I personally am just going for a hood.

Our trunks are light? Nope.

When you fab a simple trunk with two ~5mm thick layers of fiberglass (or what equals to 1cm think layer :eek:), the result will not even near light.

I promise the first thing I will do when I get back home for good is to tackle that weak area in our cars. I have an idea in mind :rolleyes:

$450.00 for hood and trunk? How much for just the hood?

Have they seen the SVX trunk? Do they realize it's not as simple as a STi??

I'm no fabricator, but if I was gonna want $450 for a hood, I think I'd need to get more than that for a trunk???

Ah yes but is it $450.00 each person or is it $450.00 each piece each person as in $900.00 for both.
Come on now, I've got a bad cold and barely know what day it is at this point.

I read this as he needs 5 people to commit to a hood and 5 people to commit to a trunk lid. And it is $450 for each one. (also remember its Canadian dollars)

Wish shipping was cheap... I would have jumped on the trunk lid instantly... :(

He has seen the trunk and quoted $450 for each piece on the group buy. After the group buy, its $500cnd each

i dont think our trunks are light at all. btw how much weight will be cf hood since our hoods are heavy. im interest on this since taking some pounds from our cars is worth it.
