Remembering past rides.

I know this has been done to death but I'm just bored and trying to remember them all.

85 BRAT 93-95
[88 Spetrum
[83 LTD II
87 GL-10 turbo
81 GL wagon Safari ed. 4x4
77 BRAT
[87 ParkAve
88 GL-10 wagon 4x4
91 Legacy Turbo *
85 XT 4x4 turbo
92 SVX *
88 GL-10 wagon 4x4
91 Loyal wagon 4x4 *
90 Legacy wagon AWD *

The * marks the cars I still have.

11 Subys in all, the [ cars were my girlfreinds or given to me. Why would I buy something other than a Subaru?

each car has a great story to go with it but it would take and entire forum by it's self to type it all.

ensteele 06-07-2003 05:09 PM

The last thread we did that for, I was a little scared of how many car I have owned over the years. Quite a few more than I had thought.

Subafreak 06-07-2003 05:20 PM

Good point considering the first one was accuired in 93, That averages out to a car a year.

SVXdriver_007 06-07-2003 05:29 PM

Oh I want in on this.....

83 chrysler lebaron (it talked baby!)
89 Ford ranger GT with 5.0 engine stuffed in it
1991 CRXsi
some year Subaru DL (it was my dowry  )
1993 Eclipse GST
1997 Honda Civic
1992 Dodge Caravan (it was free)
2002 Forester
2003 Legacy
1992 SVX

I personally would like to add a Turbo legacy in 2005 and a 2002 S4 would be nice to have on the list as well.

4. 1989 Ford ranger supercab 4x4 2.9 V6

5. 1991 Ford escort GT 1.8 DOHC

Lots of stories, especially with the old Dodges

lee 06-07-2003 09:08 PM

not so many for as long as I've been driving, but still a few (with small added commentary) and more or less in the order acquired

92 SVX - what I drive today + a 75 Norton Commando

Bikes:
68, 71, 72 Hondas - 305, 350, & 450 if I remember correctly
72 & 75 Nortons (besides the one I still have)

Cars:
59 Chevy Impala - my first car, 283 w/3-speed
65 Plymouth Sport Fury - first big block
62 VW Bus - late 60s necessity
66 Dodge Coronet Wagon (sleeper - fastest qtr miler I've owned)
66 Dodge window van - early 70s successor to above
65 Mustang - 289, not as good a car as it looked
65 Buick Riviera - I loved this car - my sister destroyed it
72 Ford Pinto - biggest POS & I bought it new - dumb
71 Ford F-100 - moving motorcycle across country
71 Karmen Ghia - heavily modified & 914/924 smoker
71 Fiat (2) 124 Spider & Sport Coupe - fun cars
65 Ford F-100 - moving again
65 Plymouth Valiant - acquired as 2nd owner in 1982 - gave it away to a needy family
68 Volvo 145 (I think that's the model - wagon anyway) worst car I've owned - traded it while it still ran for a set of VW wheels
73 VW Super Beetle - bought 84, converted auto to manual in 85
84 Chevy (impala? POS 6-cyl, auto, basic trans)
88 Mitsubishi Sigma - Japanese gadget car
69 Ford F-150 - thought I'd try a pick-up again - mistake for me
84 Mercedes SD300 - wanted to try a MB, probably not again
91 Toyota MR2 turbo - a very reliable, go-fast, roller skate

This list leaves out my wife (lots of mindlessly boring cars, mini-vans and now an '02 4-Runner) and car's I've bought for 3 of my kids (Honda Prelude, Mazda RX-7, Toyota MR2 - non turbo tho, Lexus ES-300, Ford Probe, Toyota Celica). One more kid to get through - he's 15 now.

Tim 06-07-2003 09:13 PM

Didn't mention it, but I agree - the 93 Legacy wagon is by far the best all-around car I've ever owned.

AND THE WINNER IS: HUCK. With an early love for the Pontiacs and unpleasent expiriences with the Fords before finally fiding the best auto maker in the world, Subaru.

Sorry Noir, you and me both. I'm trying to get rid of my GL/Loyal parts thoe I do have some brand new genuine doors thoe.
