SVX Drive/Meet - a suggestion?

To throw an idea in the air, what are the thoughts on say, a drive one Friday/Saturday night up the Old Pacific Highway, across Peats Ridge and then back down through Cattai?

Alternatively, we could go up to Wisemans Ferry, then across to Peats Ridge and back down the Old Pacific Highway...nice place at Wiseman's to regroup and nice summer evenings now.

Any takers/comments/suggestions??

James

count me in...provided I'm available that day.
Is it best for everyone if it's on a weekend? I would assume it is!

P.S. Where is Cattai???

Super meet

Sounds good-

Why not make it a super meet and drive up to QLD to hook up with some interstate svxs- we could leave Saturday morning and come back Sunday. Might be a bit of a mission though :)
(James you should take part in an interstate meet before the sale!)

Otherwise we could meet them half way.

I'm also up for your suggestion James. Did the svx see you at the start of the freeway?

I had a good race with an old porche (i think!) along epping road last night- neck to neck from the traffic lights at the bottom of epping road near shell. So refreshing and exciting, it gives me sweaty palms :)

Wow! You are dedicated...2000km in 2 days!!

Not long after I bought the SVX, a fellow in a Boxster (not an S) and I *ahem* drove spiritedly down Beecroft Road then the Pennant Hills Road...so nice to be able to not brake for corners and just sail around them....needless to say, I was as surprised as he at the midrange of the SVX...we were literally neck and neck

Say...tentative arrangements then for next Friday night? 16 January 2004?

And yep, saw the SVX at the beginning of the motorway

Hey everyone!

How you all going?

Yes another meet sounds a good idea. I was wondering if i can bring my motorbike next meet instead of the SVX. I hopefully will be picking my new bike up next tuesday. And am keen to do a trip on it.

Last time I tried to race a bike down the Old Pacific Highway, I pushed the SVX too hard and the back stepped out...was great to have awd though...front sort of 'pulled' the car back into line....I stopped chasing the bike

:D

Have to wait till I get another car with SVX windows....not a bike on the planet can catch it!!

Meeting halfway up/down sounds good, then a trip inland over the range. Would be an awesome weekend:D :D :D

Early March sound about right for this, might even rain by then.

I'm up for all dates,

Next Friday night would beat after work drinks for sure and a good excuse to be kind to my liver. James do you mean Fri night to do the Cattai drive?

March would also be tops for the road trip Ken.

Need to get rego check today as it expired yesterday, whoops.

Have a good weekend

Friday night would be a good night for me. Unfortunately my father's 92 is in the workshop awaiting a part from Japan. Torsional vibration problem- pulley separated, chewed belt etc. I don't think he would be a starter. Keep me posted. I like the idea of a run returning via Cattai- as it basically passes my place on the way back. Cheers, Mark.

If so, email me or call me on 0418 22 48 92

Lets Drive

YO

I'm up for tommorrow night- what time? I have been running to work so i don't get home till 7ish (hmmm & car needs a wash- might head to car lovers now) so i can meet at about 8. Otherwise if u want to meet in more daylight i am happy not to run tommorrow, then i can get to most parts of Syd by 7. James if i don't see a reply 2morrow i'll msg you during the day.

Last Saturday i chased an svx & my u-turn was rather hairy & i never managed to catch up. was devastated yet pumped at the same time. Spotting an svx sure makes a top day & gets the heart racing!

Would love to come, but my beast is still in bits :(
Yes it's fun to spot other SVX's (no one noticed my last spotting though, the silver one in Condell Park)
See also a silver one for sale in the Trading Post

Hi there

Arthur, I saw your post - had sent an email about it!!

Hmm....that rego is not familiar on the silver one at T & S - will have to go and have a look and see if we can get the VIN and match it up

Damn that weather - raining now - will have to see how it goes and whether it clears up (little point in going if raining)

James

rain

I agree

Not much point doing it in the rain! If weather is good tommorrow i'm available during the day.

Yep, way too much rain so scratch that.

I am cleaning/polishing the SVX tomorrow in case a possible buyer turns up (may or may not) so won't be able to do anything during the day

:(

Has anyone used that wax that comes in tins (like shoe polish) rather than out of a squeedgee bottle?

Thanks

James
