I'm looking for a set of wheels, any advice?

Well, I've had my eyes on a set of TSW Snettertons in silver for a while now. I think they'd look pretty sweet on the black beast!

I'll be getting 17x8, and I can just never figure out what to do with the offset. I'll be running a 245/40-17 tire (probably the BFG G-force sport)

I can never remember what our stock offset is, and where I need to go from there when I get a wider rim. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can't decide on wheels either other than I don't want to stay stock. The right look, weight, finish, and size is pretty critical But those TSW's look pretty nice, if you do get them take some pics to post!

Hmm, that kind of helps, but not a ton.

I am just trying to figure out what offset I need to purchase. I had it figured out at one time, but it's been a while and it's kinda fuzzy to me. lol I'm not even old and I forget stuff!

Seth, I just packed up your swaybar! I'm heading to the UPS store now to ship it!

And I will for sure let you see pictures. I also agree that not a lot of wheels look good on the svx. I think this one is pretty classy and still sporty though. I've been deliberating for about 6 months now. hahah I wanted something with a bit of a dish on it to to kinda go VIP status with it. hahaha Plus TSW wheels are very strong and light (ish) for their sizes. This one receives Europes highest TUV rating for safety, or so I read.

Glad to hear the sway bar is on the way! Not like I can install it with all the snow on the ground now but I may just put it on the mantle over my fireplace so I can stare at it everyday:lol:

I like a bit of dish on the wheels. I wish some of the old school stuff like SSR Neos would fit our cars for a 16" wheel I think they look great!

Other than that I can't decide on color or finish lately I don't some of the different spoke patterns out there either. Hopefully I will have something figured out by the time I am ready to purchase good fall back is the Sti wheels though. I plan to go to 17" I may play with the offset but don't want to have to roll the fenders so nothing outlandish. ;)

You need to do your homework, but right off the top, I would say that you would be okay with 49mm offset, depending on how aggressively wide your tire is for the size. Absolutely nothing less than 49mm. I'm not saying that 49mm will clear the rear fenders, but if I had to guess based on my experience, I would say very close, probably yes. :D

Nevin,
If it helps, the 16x8 RX-7 rims have a 50mm offset and I've run them with 245/45 Hoosiers with no interference issues. If memory serves me right, our stock 16" rims have a 55 mm offset and are 7.5-7.75 wide.

Our stock rims are 7" and yeah, I had a set of FD's on mine as well with no issues and a 245/45-16 tire.

I'm sure curious what I should do though since they have the 1" lip on the front... Whether or not I should take that into account. lol Still learning!

Nevin,
The lip really doesn't play. You had it right in the first place when you zeroed in on the offset.;)
Bottom line is that if you stay around 50mm of offset with an 8" wide rim you should be fine.
