Last month my wife potholed a wheel. Bent it pretty bad so that to get it to hold air, we had to heat and beat.

We finally located a good pair of used wheels, thanks to Aredubjay, which were delivered a couple of weeks ago. Much thanks to Harry in Florida (have you joined yet Harry?) for taking good care of them.

So, last Saturday, the tire dealer came by the bank (where my wife works) and picked up the car and changed the wheel. I left them a note which read: "Please change Right Front (damaged) wheel and rotate front to back." Pretty simple stuff, right? Well, she came home and said something about the tires looking 'funny'. I went to look, and they had switched the rear wheels side for side. Monday. I drove to Evansville, picked up her car, and went to the shop. I showed them the problem and they said, "Can you bring it in later this afternoon?" "No", I said, "I drove forty miles to get here, and I have to work this afternoon." "Well, it might be a couple hours then." I was pretty ticked, but then they got the car in about twenty minutes later. I made sure I went in to talk to the guy actually doing the job, and also pointed out that the hub covers are keyed, which is why they looked kind of lop-sided. He said, "Okay", and off came the wheels. About twenty minutes later, the manager said it was done and gave me my keys. I didn't even get out the door before I noticed that they'd put them back on the wrong side! I pointed out the 'L' by the valve stem, and they both (manager and mechanic - using both terms loosely here) said, "Well, that ain't right. Them wheels are going the wrong way." Well - DUH! After a lengthy discussion, we finally got things right.

Today, going out to Wally-World we were showered with coal by two trucks going the opposite direction. Add about fifty new nicks on my hood! Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! !!!!!

Other than that, life's been swell. You?

Steve

Well, you could be without your car for 10 days while people try and diagnose your tranny problem. :) Ain't life as an SVXer sweet. (BTW, where did you go to get the wheels done -- I want to avoid that place, since I have to get my tires rotated in Evansville)

Steve - sounds like fun, but just a reminder - this is a family site! ;)
