True or False? Oil Pan

Is the SVX oil pan magnetic on the inside? I read this in my replacement SVX parts manual. If so, what would be the purpose of a magnetic drain plug then? Any insight?

I've heard of a magnet installed in the Tranny pan to collect small metal particulates, but, havn't heard of it in the crankcase pan. Guess they could have installed one in that pan, for the same reason. If you ever have the tranny serviced (to the point they drop the pan) make sure they clean the magnet. Again, dunno about the crankcase pan.

EDIT: I just looked in the FSM. There's no mention of any magnetic properties in the pan, nor, does it show the position of a magnet in the pan.

I'll find it again, but it was the crankcase pan.

As Randy said, there is a magnetic plug in the transmission that's separate from the drain plug.

And the drain plug in the oil pan is magnetic.

The oil pan can't be magnetic only on the inside since the thing is a one piece metal pan. I tried holding a screw driver up to the pan - it's not magnetic on the outside - so not magnetic on the inside.
