Wheel Weight Question
Hello was wondering if anyone knew how much the stock wheels weigh and the same with the JDM S4 BBS wheels. Also does anyone know what model of wheel the JDM S4 BBS wheel name or model # is? Ed . |

STOCK OEM 5-spoke wheel (without center cap) weighs 20 lbs. (9.07kg) each. FORGED JDM BBS wheels (without center cap is) weighs 15.6 lbs (7.08kg.) each. With center cap/waffle ring, the complete wheel weighs exactly 16 lbs. (7.28kg) each. Just weighed them on my electronic scale a few minutes ago. 20% lighter http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/atta...1&d=1517080813 http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/atta...1&d=1517080813 http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/atta...1&d=1517080813 JDM S4 BBS wheel is also referred tp as the mesh or cross-spoke design, which superficially resembles a wire wheel and was common on sports cars produced from the 1980s to the early 1990s. This design is light in weight compared to many other styles of the time. Our wheel is unique and unlike any one that BBS ever made, because of the high positive offset, which gives the outer edge the same profile as the factory rims (for wheel weights) No flat surface or the deep barrel. One of the most popular BBS produced wheels was the three-piece RS/RG/RZ released in 1977, which became a popular aftermarket wheel and was often replicated by other manufacturers. |

The edges of the OEM rim and the BBS rims are the same profile http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/atta...1&d=1517082992 http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/atta...1&d=1517082578 As far as other information, maybe the original part number is available from Japanese sources or FHI. I don’t know it offhand and the P/N is now obsolete. Maybe someone knows These are the only numbers stamped anywhere on the original wheels. http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/atta...1&d=1517083186 . |

Ed, Be prepared for people to make fun of you for “skateboard” wheels. Because of how delicate they look they look smaller than the massive 5-spoke OEM, even though they are both 16” http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/atta...1&d=1517115147 http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/atta...1&d=1517115672 |

I also really like the wingless trunk lid. can you just remove it or do you need a special lid? |
Re: Wheel Weight Question
You can remove the wing but will have to deal with 4 holes. You could put caps in the holes if you can find any that would be waterproof. OR, you could buy a trunk from a wingless car.
