Looking for a few parts

Hi,

I'm looking for 2 options, either a full set of grey dash trims & peices or the dark wood look surround for the gear selector & speedo surround.

I also need the grey front part of the speedo head unit ( the bit behind the perspex thats cover the gauges)
The above were slightly damaged by an idiot autolecccy fitting my MPH chip & speedo conversion.

I would also be interested in a pair of UK glass headlamps or very good JDM's.

Cheers
Darren

Hi Darren

I have not seen you post before. Welcome to the Network.:)

I hope you get your parts. A member on eBay was parting a car 6 months or more ago. He had all those grey dash parts you want.

Obviously if he sold even one of them, he would not have a full set.

His name is Istefan I think, but he was selling the stuff last Christmas.

Try contacting him here:

I tried to buy some grey dash parts from Istvan, but he told me he had thrown them all away because nobody wanted them! :(

Grey dash parts are really hard to find - but they are actually just the dark wood with a sort of rubbery dark grey spray paint applied. If you could find the right paint then you could improvise.

Phil.

Yes, and there is a company in the US that sells fake stick-on veneers to change the look of the dash. They have both right hand and left hand sets for the SVX.

If memory serves, they even do a fake carbon fibre weave type applique, which would be a nice grey finish, if grey is what you hanker for.

Hiya,

I have seen the kits and they don't really do it for me, not seen a kit that actually fits perfectly and solves the problem of the heater control lights.

I am looking into a friend of mine who is a printer making a clear decal that will perfectly fit over the unpainted clear parts and then being able to have the panels painted in a matt silver and a protective plastic matt lacquer top coat. I have been told that if you sand off the wood effect or even the grey its clear plastic under, if thats the case then the decals can be added with out the worry of perfectly lining up with the old colour.

I will let everyone know how it goes and if all goes well the decals will be available to anyone wanting to try it.

Until then I'm still looking for a full set of grey just incase lol

Sounds good Darren. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Keep us posted.

Sorry for the delay getting back, it has been busy.

Dayle in Motorsports Warehouse in the States http://www.motorsportswarehouse.com/ sells these. You can see a RHD one on his site, but LHD is probably what you want:

I did find SVX dash kits on eBay also for less dollars, you might want to check into them also:

Dark wood surround for gear shifter

1 Attachment(s)
Darren,
I bought some parts from a guy here in Auckland (very cheap), New Zealand (RHD same as UK) - anyway I wanted the rear window ioniser switch that was located in the gear selector switch area - he gave me the whole thing including the surround in dark wood.

It's yours for free ... just email me at the following with your address (just remember it has a cutout for switch).

The guy is wrecking a couple of SVXs here in Auckland called Peter at Peter petersw@ihug.co.nz
