Life Ruined, Please Advise

Today in Socorro NM there was hail. There was hail bigger than golf balls for over 15 minutes in fact. Now my beloved car is effectively destroyed: I lost 6 windows the rear deck is destroyed and the entire thing is covered in dents. I don't have comprehensive insurance so now I am left to figure out what to do. The car is a 92 claret with 122K miles that is in very good condition mechanically. Here are some of my ideas.

1. I can sell the entire car as a parts car and buy another car (svx or not).

2. I can sell the pieces of the car on ebay or on here seperately and buy another car (svx or not).

3. I can buy another SVX, possibly one that doesn't even run, and keep my car as a parts car.

4. Keep the car and make the car the first convertible rally SVX.

5. Repair all the damage and keep the car. No, just kidding. That is NOT an option.

Please help me decide what to do with my baby. I'd really like to get another SVX but we'll see.

 Damn It's hard to see that
If it was a solid runner before I would look for a second one & make 1 of them a parts car.. I gotta think you couldnt get nearly what it is worth ( even with the hail damage )
If it was mine I would make it a parts car or some kind of rally runner.

Damn sorry to see that & hope to hear a better ending for her.

I'd probably go with a little bit of 2+3. Buy a non-running SVX, fix it up, and sell whatever you have left.

I am so sorry to see that. I don't know what to say. :(

dude that is horrid. i have a reocuring night mare that my svx is in a hial storm. you need a hug dude good luck and happy hunting.

If it was me I'd probably start with a fifth of gin...:( :( :( What about paintless dent removal? Probably still over the top, but with the bottom side of the roof somewhat accesable it might be a posibility, and no one can ever sell those pesky deck lids, hoods can be swaped, ect. If you could do all the dissasembly/reasembly and get used glass from parts cars it just might work...

K, I just read your signature,

the super something something man...

What exactly is it, or am I in the wrong ballpark....

Socorro got Hail?? omg....
What is NM Weather comming to?!?!?!?

Im soooo sorry about your ride man... I know this is kinda
pathetic... but I felt alittle sick to my stomiac looking at that pic!

I agree with everyone else... buy a used SVX, and swap parts
where needed... if your lucky you mite find one like mine,
got mine for $1500, but already put in over $2000 in parts...
Sence yours was running strong, you have an advantge!
Plus... KEEP that car, even after you get your new/used one
running good... never know when you will need parts!!!!!!!

Good luck on your quest for another SVX... I wish you all the well.

It was hail bigger than golf balls for 15 minutes. We have almost never seen this in NM before, but our weather is notorious for being unpredictable and bad-tempered. Sometimes we see all 4 seasons in one day.

Der Uberbösekäsegurkemann means the super evil cheese cucumber man. I enjoyed German class.

NapaBavarian, rebuilding is not an option, I've spent over 10K dollars on this car over the years and it would cost more than that to get it back like it was. It would cost much less to just get a new one.

I put up a few pictures in my locker but not many because it takes so long.
