stock camshaft specs

I am having a performance valve job done on my cylinder head and the machinist wants to know the specs of our stock camshafts. I did a little research on the network and there is A LOT of information on camshafts, in fact too much for a novice to be able to decifer what info i really need.

So that being said, what camshaft spec info will my machinist need to complete his job? I was planning on keeping the camshafts stock to avoid reliability issues and having to convert to solid buckets...now that i think about it, is it possible to obtain a more aggressive camshaft without sacrificing too much daily drivability? thanks in advance.

Hi the standard valve timing is measured at 0.010"
Inlet opens 2*BTDC, closes 54* ABDC. Lift is 7mm.
Exhaust opens 55* BBDC, closes 9* ATDC. Lift is 8mm.

There is a cam that has been used before, welded and ground by Delta Cams. It was a modified Inlet cam that increased the lift to 8mm, with a 247* duration. It helped the torque to continue up the revs a bit further.

Harvey.

Harvey, could you please define the acroynms? (BTDC, ABDC, BBDC and ATDC). Thanks, Chris

BTDC = Before Top Dead Center
ABDC = After Bottom Dead Center
BBDC = Before Bottom Dead Center
ATDC = After Top Dead Center

Blue is inlet duration.
