Rubber trim on top of rear wheel well?

How do I remove that black rubber trim that is along the outer edge of the rear wheel well? The ones that sit up against the body.

On my car they are pulling away in places towards the rear, just enough to not look right. I would like to replace them sometime in the future. Or even better, figure out a way to make them sit flush with the edge.

From what I can tell it looks like it slips under the side skirt and rear bumper cover, but I'm not sure where they actually attach.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

This was the first thing I did to my SVX. I believe you can pulled them off. Pull them in the same direction of wheel well curve slowly. Do this only if it comes off easily, if not wait for some more advise.

I'll try to post a picture of it when I get home.

Dannmarr,
Did you replace yours, or did you just leave it off?

.

Here is a close-up shot of my front fender well. See the thin strip of black rubber along the inner edge of the fender? It runs the entire edge of the metal fender only (not the bumper or the cladding)

The rear fender well looks the same. Here is the diagram

Here are the part numbers from subaruparts.com. Located in the Body Parts section under "mud guard".

59121PA001...Protector, front arch, right...42.90
59121PA011...Protector, front arch, left...42.90

59121PA020...Protector, rear arch, right...44.32
59121PA030...Protector, rear arch, left...44.32

One or two of mine are starting to peel away as well. I would be interested in any info on fixes.

Why would you remove it?

I don't think I have the thing in svxcess' picture.

The part numbers are the same for all years and it was standard for all years.

The first 2 diagrams I posted were from the later sections (94-97). The last diagram was from the 1992 section.
