engine thump and suspension pop

My SVX after it warms up sometimes has a thumping sound when in idle. I never thought much about it until one day my Dad asked me if my engine was ok and if I had enough oil in it. It’s almost like a thumping sound – hard to describe. Is this just a normal flat engine sound? Funny, had the car for 8 years and just now really noticed the noise.

2nd question, when I leave in the mornings I back in the turnaround in my driveway, then when I start to pull out there is a sharp pop sound coming from the bottom of the car. Do I just need to lube the suspension? CV joints are fine and no play with the tie rods.

Thanks for the help!

How are the engine/tranny mounts?

need to check

I need to check them. The pop actually sounds like a suspension part popping. I will check them though. Thanks,

Check you rear trailing arms.
They carry 3 to 4 inch bolts, and I had one drop out.
Every time I got in the driveway and came up the edge, I had a pop.
Heard it one day while backing up, and sure enough, the bolt was gone, and the arm was hanging.
