Re: Memory dump of ECU
I'm going to go ahead and post it today. I just started a thread for it here: http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?p=677628

I came across this recently. Looks like late 1980's vintage. Probably the diagnostic tool for the old L-series cars. I haven't tried it on my car yet, but it looks like it just reads and writes byte values by address over SSM0 or SSM1 protocol. It probably came with a list of important addresses.

On a separate note. A member here emailed me some evidence that Subaru knew about "the 92 problem" and supplied an adapter along with the SSM2 to clean up the signal. Have a look at these pictures:

On a related note, I think I have the final versions of the definitions files for Evoscan and JECScan for you to host on your site. I have done some work on the FreeSSM files as well but that software wants all of the switch stuff and trouble code stuff as well and I have made bascially no progress on those. Still, the development version of FreeSSM can use what I have to pull ECU and TCU data from the OBD2 cars. |
Re: Memory dump of ECU
It's not of any importance but I just read a Canadian TSB ROM. Despite having a hand written label it is identical to the US TSB ROM which is also identical to the image on your website labled as a 93 SVX image with the ROM ID 722527 (i diffed them all to be sure).

Re: Memory dump of ECU
Thread resurrection! I ordered all the parts to make the daughter board with the two chips and get ready for tuning. I started playing with tuner pro and rom raider tonight but cannot get the definition file to load into either program.
Would love some help and will document anything I find when I get around to actually poking its brain. |

The address space of the chip is 64K from 0x0000 to 0xFFFF. The ROM is 32K and stored at address 0x8000 to 0xFFFF. I normally download the 32K ROM and then add 32K of blank data in front of it to make a 64K file so that the file offset of the maps lines up with their address in memory. Have a look at your tuner pro and rom raider definitions and see whether it is expecting a 32K or 64K file. |
Re: Memory dump of ECU
Am I editing the rom or the config/definitions? In RomRaider it tells me no definition file found.
