Awards Dinner

Hello all!

As you may have seen on the tentative 2004 calendar we put out a few weeks ago, we are planning on starting a new tradition as we continue to form the club. The year end Awards Dinner will serve as a great way to wrap up the year's events, talk about the coming year, and most of all give us a chance to get together for a few hours at an official annual event during a time of year that is less than favorable for a full scale driving tour.

To keep with the idea of a "year end" event, while at the same time waiting for the busy holiday season to end, we will probably look to hold this event in the first couple weeks of January each year.

The main purpose is of course a social gathering, so even if you haven't attended any events in 2003, you are certainly welcome to come. As for the awards, you will just have to show up to see what that is all about. ;)

That said, please help us out by replying with some information:

1) If you are interested in attending this event.

2) What Saturday evenings in January you are available, probably narrowing it to the 3rd, 10th, and 17th for now.

3) We were thinking of having the dinner at the Rome Restaurant in Arlington, where we had lunch for the Fall Colors Tour. Would this location work for you, if not, please specify how far you are willing to travel?

Understandedly, we are probably not going to get attendees from out of state for a few hour dinner, depending on the level of enthusiasm. :D In future years, if there is enough interest and participation in other areas we could move the location around for this event.

Thanks for the input!

I'd sure love to attend, but I'm tenatively booked most of January. Only the 24th and 31st are definately open.

1) Yes!
2) 3/10/17/24/31 all open, as far as I know now
3) The Rome in Arlington would be great, they really did good for us on FCII tour!

Sundays are almost always horrible for me...

but I hope to have a real job by then...with real perks like health insurance, paid vacations and retirement!

Kudos to Jim for this idea and helping me plan it, I think it is going to be something fun and new to most of us.

It will definitely be held on a Saturday, probably early evening I imagine.

Earl - don't despair about having no life, it gives you more time to hang with cool people like us, which might even qualify as indeed having a life! :D

So far for me it looks like only the 3rd or 24th are available, but I could probably switch that around if it looks like something else works better.

The 24th works for me too. :)

WestCoastSVX 12-12-2003 11:40 AM

Wow, it looks like we are really zeroing in on the 24th. :D

Considering that is one of only two Saturdays I have free I'm thinking that might work very well. :)
