Subaru BRZ
1 Attachment(s)
I assume you all have seen pictures of the new Subaru BRZ. It looks pretty great to me. The low center of gravity, light weight, and H4 gas mileage are very appealing. I will definitely be test driving one and potentially buying. I was wondering what other aficionados think.

Re: Subaru BRZ
It is on the short list of cars that I will be looking at when my daily driver needs to be replaced. My concerns are interior size and rear wheel drive in the winter, but I like it.

Re: Subaru BRZ
Don't worry, I bet OT is already working on a all wheel conversion.

Re: Subaru BRZ
Here are the pictures that I took of it at the North American International Auto Show last weekend. As far as Subarus go, it's not a bad looking car.

Re: Subaru BRZ
maybe i'm biased because i am not a scion fan but the scion version looks pretty ugly in comparison. the front end reminds me of the tiburon.

Re: Subaru BRZ
I just had a nice look hands on look at the Scion version about half an hour ago. I'm at a shop that preps cars for commercials and one rolled in for a shoot.
I have to say, either the Subaru or Scion... this is one cool car. Small, low, sporty. You stand next to it and it feels like sports car... you sit in it and it is absolutely a sports car. Standing next to it, it's small... like a 1970's Porsche or a Miata. When you open the hood the top of the engine is just above knee cap level... it sits low and slightly behind the front wheels. I can't wait to drive one! |
Re: Subaru BRZ
Still trying to wrap my brain around the RWD part. Not a criticism of the car, I just think a Subaru needs to be AWD.

Re: Subaru BRZ
I too think that Subaru should be awd, but looking at the drawings, the motor would have to move forward and up, which would mess with the design and handling... oh well... I still want to drive one :)
Anybody else think that the "86" emblem on the side of the Scion could be modified to "H6" and look good on the side of a SVX? |

Re: Subaru BRZ
I am really disappointed with this "toyoru". Two large manufacturers and their design didn't go beyond this?

A 2400 lb, low center of gravity, RWD sports car is a beautiful thing - appreciate it for what it is. And instead of wishing it was AWD, wish for a turbo or STi version. The Genesis I like too, it may be a Hyundai, but for a Hyundai, it's a damn good effort. Here's hoping the toyobaru makes it look foolish. :) |
