Finally got one!!
 

Well, I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Laguna blue 94 L with 110,000 miles. I have a couple questions. Do knock sensors actually do anything? How come it has some features that are with the L model and some that are from the LS model? It has dual airbags, the gray dash, no sunroof, it has 6 speakers. Im getting my info about the different models from http://www.cars101.com/subaru_svx.html so I'm not sure if its reliable. Over all I'm very pleased with it. Needs some new brakes and rotors though.:)

Dual airbags were added in '94, thats not something that was model related. All laguna's has grey interior. You probably dont have tweeters in the dash, they are probably just the blank covers. The knock sensors detect knock (prior to detonation) and pull timing to protect the engine from detonation/knock.

There is a model comparison in the How-To Documents under SVX information that will give you some good information. Congratulations on the purchase. :)

I'm not 100% positive on this, but I think that some of the things that came standard on the LS/LSi were available as an option on the L, such as CD player, 6 speaker sound, etc..

The connectors for the tweeters are there, so you can just get some out of the junkyard or something like that and plug them in. Sucks you don't have the sunroof and other goodies, but you're also about 250lbs lighter than the LS-L :-)

Don't forget to bring it in to John and Phils' for an oil change ;)

Laguna is my fave color on the SVX , right after Ebony. :)

One more thing that needs fixing is the power steering pump. Makes a whiny noise when I accelerate. They quoted me $334 to fix it, $50 for parts. Anyone know how to replace it? Or wants to? ;)

check the oil level first.
after that replace the lower o ring and return hose.
thats most likly the problem.

My P/S pump whines too, but the steering still works fine (Although I have noticed that the wheel is easier to turn in my Legacy, but then again, the Legacy doesn't have wide tires with an H6 sitting over them :lol:) I need to replace the O Ring in mine and see if it stops whining.
