rear wiper gone haywire

It snowed here in DC last night, the first snow since having my SVX. So I get in my car and go to turn on the rear wiper and what does it do? It wipes the trunk off instead.... WTH... It totally went backwards and then back to its resting point... What gives? I havent had a problem with it up until now. Oh and the snow wiper mode really helped out as well :D

I started to ask if maybe the motor could be installed improperly, but it worked before? Crazy. Afraid I don't know enough about the wiper drive to even venture a guess.

I'm sorry but that sounds funny!

I guess for now you could reinstall the wiper in a position so it will clean the window. When the wiper is off which side of the car is it on?
