WINNIPEG – A handful of western Manitoba municipalities are under a flash flood warning after receiving half a year's worth of rain in a few hours Wednesday night.

A band of heavy rain that stretched from Minot, North Dakota, to Riding Mountain National Park dropped between 150 and 175 millimetres of rain. Some isolated regions are reporting receiving as much as 300 millimetres – almost 12 inches – of rain.
1 FOOT of rain!?!

There was some crazy rain in Bremerton Washington this week. I don't remember exactly how much, but I think we got a couple of inches in about forty minutes. I had roughly 3/8th inch hail raining down on my car. I was able to pull under a covered gas station within about ten seconds from when it started, but I've got at least a dozen new chips in my paint. One puddle down the street from where I was hiding swallowed a car, and I had to drive / float my car through a small, very muddy river several minutes after the rain stopped. Several cars were stalled in it. Afterwards there were muddy sand beds in the middle of the roads and parking lots. Some people were flooded out of their homes and businesses. ...and it was all only within a mile radius. I've seen rain like that before, but normally it only lasts for a few minutes. This time it lasted for the better part of an hour.

The end of the world is near! :)

You mean there's more?! Every time I deal with one day, another one shows up at my doorstep and won't go away. Persistent buggers.
