If Subaru made a 360 today?

I think it would look something like this:

It definitely looks like a natural progression...

The only question is how would Subaru make an electric boxer engine? :D

how about the Subaru R1?

they'd probably sell a crapload if they brought it to the U.S. now, with its 57mpg.

"Equipped with a 4-cylinder, DOHC, naturally aspirated engine (660 cc) with an active valve control system (AVCS) as well as the i-CVT (intelligent continuously variable transmission), the R1 has achieved fuel economy of 24.0 km/L (10-15 mode cycle; 2WD model), ranking it among the most fuel efficient mini cars in Japan."

Wow, that little thing shares tons of styling elements with the Tribeca. I don't just mean the nose, obviously - it looks like a Tribeca that was left in the dryer too long.

The 360 or its newer version is still being made today. I don't think they make a car but they definately make vans and trucks. The 360 in other markets was called the Sambar, which it still is today. I think if I remember correctly it comes with a 2 cylinder 600cc engine. Last I had looked at them they were selling for about $9k American, its a shame that we have to put up with Polaris and Yamaha small trucklets when for about the same money you could get an enclosed 4x4 with heat and even air! With Robin here they could sell it through their dealerships, I would even think it could qualify for a "city" car standard for use on roads up to 35mph.
