SVX design images

Hey guys.. I added some SVX design images to my locker. They are under the folder "Design". Images are from old "Carstyling" magazine.

I like a lot of Giugiaro design cars too. Most of them have similarities to each other. Maybe that's his style. The 1st VW Golf(Rabbit), old Isuzu Impulse, Isuzu 117 coupe, Isuzu Imark.. Italdesign Brera, Those are beutitul cars. He has worked on a lot of Japanese cars.
Can't forget about DMC12. If someone make Back to the future again, they should use SVX as a cool time machine! Then SVX will be known for many people..:D

I knew it!

I had been looking for pics of the prototype with pop-up lights. Nice collection there.

For some reason I was drawn towards the Isuzu Piazza (Impulse). Then I found out it was another Giugiaro design... no wonder.

Where did you find the photos in the SVX_SCALEMODEL folder?

It is some of the most incredible documentation of the kit, the assembly process, and the finished model. In some shots it passes for the real thing. The attention to detail in the interior is superb.

It would be a great challenge to track down the existance of this kit.

Before I left OZ, I found a site (Japanese) that showed the development of this kit - the detail and effort was staggering (only wish it could be bigger!) but I cannot recall the link - I head that it was very very expensive though on the Yahoo JP site

That would definitely be a 'must buy'!

This is like an inside story, but Subaru requested Giugiaro non-popup headlites, but he did the popup headlites anyway.
So the whole front end was actually done by subaru designers.

Isuzu Piazza is one of my favorite too. The show car was "Isuzu Asso Di Fiori"
so COOL!

Oo, this reminded me, I have to buy Isuzu Piazza plastic model kit! Fujimi released the old piazza model again, so it should not be so hard to get this one..

Cool pics. Does anyone know if the SVX's 5spoke concept wheels are available somewhere?

The model was actually limited production(about 270kits) from "Studio27". It's cast resin model with some metal parts. Not a lot of parts when you open the package, but the price was huge...160bucks! Sanding, painting, putthing those together was just crazy. It's not like regular Tamiya plastic model kit. I put so much effort making this model.. before I knew it, it was end of my vacation..It took my whole vacation away! I spent too much time on that model. I really wished someone(like Tamiya, aoshima, fujimi..) made detailed plastic model kit of SVX within the price range 15-25bucks..

I posted some threads about this model like couple months ago. I'm not sure if i wrote much more detail about this model. But basically, this model would be really hard to get. It was kind of requested program, and when the requested number reached 250 or something, Studio27 launched the SVX project. So, they only made 270 or so to provide to those who requested the SVX model kit. However, most of people who got this model couldn't handle making this model, so many of them sold the model..to JP yahoo auction or somthing. There still may be chance to get this model.

Anyway, I was making this SVX model while I was in Japan, and I was so affraid to bring the model back to the US(it might break). But, in the US here, I have a real 1/1 scale running model that I can get in and drive:D
