Thanks for that. I was just thinking of placing an order for some parts. :)

Re: Subaruparts.com discount thru 7/6/10
Does anyone know if you can email them or call them and renegotiate the shipping price at all? I am looking at getting some stuff that shouldn't cost more than about $10 to ship, but they obviously just charge a certain percentage it seems. Just curious:)

Re: Subaruparts.com discount thru 7/6/10
Nate I feel ya on that. Have these people not heard of USPS Priority mail flat rate boxes?
Here is a good example (though not subaruparts.com) I ordered the 6 nuts and 6 bolts for my motor mounts from 1stsubaruparts.com. It cost me $6.42 for the hardware, and $12.95 to ship it. 1stsubaruparts has a shipping comment box on the order form. In it I put, "Have you considered using USPS small flat rate boxes? They only cost $4.85 to ship and small orders like my nuts and bolts would easily fit. The shipping on this order is double the the price of the product. $12.95 to ship 6 nuts and bolts is obscene." But no .. They ship UPS. So my nuts and bolts are insanely expensive to ship and take a week to get here. USPS priority flat rate is 2-3 day guaranteed, so half the time and half the price. |

Nate was asking if he can call subaruparts and renegotiate shipping charges with them. Anyone did that before?

Re: Subaruparts.com discount thru 7/6/10
The discount code above was a "reward" for completing a Subaruparts.com customer survey in which I stated that my only real beef is what they charge for shipping. They also gave me $10 off a recent order. I don't recall them issuing any across-the-board "sale" promos since late last year.
Fact is, where I live, what they charge is still way cheaper than driving to the local Subaru dealership (as there isn't one). Good luck negotiating. They'll tell you that their charges reflect freight cost, packaging, labor, and so on. I did get them to refund shipping charges once when DSL took weeks to find my house. dcb |

You need to ask for the "subaru-svx.net discount" and the prices will meet or beat the online dealers. |

I usually speak with Russ. I doubt they'll honor the extra 15%?? |
Re: Subaruparts.com discount thru 7/6/10
I ordered sway bar bushings and mounts from Liberty Subaru several years ago and wasn't sufficiently impressed by the price or turnaround to be lured back. In fairness I should try them again.
Not sure it's reasonable to expect any of these outlets to be too keen on negotiating to match a competitor's discount offer, but it can't hurt to ask. dcb |

Re: Subaruparts.com discount thru 7/6/10
I use Subarupart.com. I like all the diagrams, it and it is easy to navigate. I am not thrilled with the cost of shipping or how long it takes to arrive but I continue to use them because I like the site and that site alone makes it worth it to me.
