Water in door?

I lifted back my door panels yesterday to just check my speaker situation, I just took off the 2 screws on the front of the panel and popped the clips out just enough to get to the front speakers. as soon as i pulled the panel up the wood supports or whatever theyre made that hold the speaker in place basically just disintigrated, My speakers were also soaked, thus being the reason why they were blown to crap. Im not sure if anyone else has had a problem with water getting into the door, both sides were pretty wet inside there. Are there any drains that may clog up or rot out that would somehow divert water into the panels, and now that those wooden speaker supports are shot how would i go about mounting new speakers once i get the panel all the way off when warmer weather arrives, Any suggestions Appreciated

Check all the way the bottom end of your doors, I mean the metal thing and not the rubber. You should see a couple of holes on the edges for each door. Maybe something is blocking them from the inside, most probably grease and dirt.

Someone in a previous post had a link for speaker adaptors that fit the SVX. Looked again but couldnt find it!! Try swooping through the MOD section under audio and see if you can dig up that link. they look like 3 tab round adapters and they were off of ebay. Good luck

Whatever wood supports you found were a previous owner's construction.

You probably should check the window weatherstripping to see how so much water is getting into the door. A little is understandable, but the soaked speakers you replace will soon be soaked again if you don't correct the problem.

I've had this problem for a while now too. Mine to a lesser extent though, but enough that in an ice storm no amount of deicer will free my locks. I can tell you this, since those wood mounts aren't stock, check for Dynomat. people put that stuff in the WRONG places, like a strip inside the bottom of the door, and yeah that stuff is pretty water resistant. my buddy's Camaro had that problem in high school, the plugged holes and bad stripping. when we fixed that, his car was much faster!! that water is like having another person in the car.:cool:
