fwd turn into awd tranny?
 

i have a fwd tranny form a 1994 svx it was wrecked:( but good tranny:)
and i also have a 1992 svx with a bad tranny.

so here's my question: can i take the diff's off of the 92 awd tranny and put them on the 94 fwd tranny and get a awd tranny?

and if so would it be as easy as remove and replace?

I think the short answer here is no. You'd also need the rear tail housing, another speed sensor, a solenoid c...ehhhh

Actually yes, you can take all the AWD parts from your bad tranny and install them into a FWD tranny, but this would include the wiring harness(internal too) rear transfer clutch pack and tail housing, and front diff...

I'd advise having a tranny shop do it to get the clearances right...

Sell it and put the money to an awd tranny. Subaru had millions of dollars for R&D. (thought with all these failures, you'd think otherwise :lol:) You don't. It'll be less trouble for you in the end.
