Installing neon lights

I have a 92 LSI and I was wondering if is possible to install neon lights on the interior so that they only go on when the alarm is activated and when the alarm is disactivated. I dont' want then to stay on all the time while I'm inside, I just want then to go on when I activate the alarm, just for that moment. Does anyone know if that's possible? and if it is where exactly can I connect them. Thanks

Not that I've done it, or that I know much about the factory alarm (mine had some other alarm in it when I bought it), but that should be very easy. The alarm located in the glovebox should have a switched power source that is activated when you enable the alarm. You simply have to splice into that power and run your lights off them. If there isn't one, you may be able to power it off your door pins sensors, but I doubt they would produce enough voltage to run them.

If you want to go to the trouble of "digging" into the headliner, you could tap into your dome light wiring. Otherwise, you'd have to go to the module behind the glove box.

(BTW -- there no such thing as a 92 LSI -- they were LS-L's -- confusing, but true. LSI's didn't come along until '94-97 -- just an FYI)

Doesn't the dome light just flash? I assumed he wanted it one all the time, kind of like a led on a regular alarm.

No, the dome light comes on when you disengage the alarm to illuminate the interior of the car. It also "fades" when you exit the car --- but, I see what you mean. I misunderstood.

Here's the link to the wiring chart that Doug Mohr posted not too long ago, if you wanna check it out.
